A quilt for Lennox

Saffron Craig - Friday, October 09, 2009

I have been keen to cut up the two new fabrics. I started stitching a cot quilt. I was asked to make a quilt for a new born baby boy. His mummy’s favourite colours are blue, brown and orange—coincidentally the colours of the new fabrics.  With a matching softie or two I hope to make one mummy delight.

I used  the new Brown Owl in Trees as the center panel and framed it with white fabric. I used the small Owl and Koala for the corners. I hand stitched the quilt. The center of the quilt in white and and the borders I stitched in blue in a scribbling follow-the-line feel. The dark blue thread was used for the first time, I bought it back in May. I am really in a stitching mood again. I was pleased what I could make with the three pieces of fabric. Owl in Trees brown, Owl and Koala Softies and the Dandelion Circles for the backing.

I made a bag for it to live in. Its in the post!
