About Saffron Craig
Saffron Craig’s new contemporary fabric designs are inspired by the Australia she loves. She designs in her studio on Sydney's northern beaches and is motivated by a passion to create beautiful designs that inspires others to make things.
It’s the spirited, natural surroundings that come through in her contemporary fabric designs. See finds pockets of beauty everywhere in the natural world, from the whimsy and subtlety of her dandelion print to the whirling gingko blossoms and the cute, quizzical owls in trees. Saffron begins her process by hand drawing the motif, before working her design into a finished product on the computer.
She has just currently 3 ranges of fabrics:
The Fanstastic Fairies range—4 designs in a harmonious colour scheme of pinks, browns, reds and green. Tulip Fairy, large motif print; Fairy Circles, geometric all-over print; Fairy Lovehearts and Fairies in Flowers, varying flower shapes sprinkled with fairies.
The Fields range includes five designs - a large scale print of parrots in a forest, dandelions in pink and yellow, dandelion circles and squiggly flowers.
The bold and funky Owl Range, features the owl & koala softies, owls in trees, ginkgo blossoms, trees mignon and a large scale print of owls nesting.This range comes in 2 colour ways: red & orange and brown & blue.
Saffron is in her second year as a fabric designer, following on from her successful career as a fashion designer.
