About Saffron Craig

Saffron Craig’s new contemporary fabric designs are inspired by the Australia she loves. She designs in her studio on Sydney's northern beaches and is motivated by a passion to create beautiful designs that inspires others to make things.

It’s the spirited, natural surroundings that come through in her contemporary fabric designs. See finds pockets of beauty everywhere in the natural world, from the whimsy and subtlety of her dandelion print to the whirling ginkgo blossoms and the cute, quizzical beetle bugs. Saffron begins her process by hand drawing the motif, before working her design into a finished product on the computer.

Saffron is in her fourth year as a fabric designer, following on from her successful career as a fashion designer. Her fabrics are successfully sold throughout Australia and in selected shops across the world.

She has been selected as one of 10 artists to design a bespoke illustration for Lego's 50 year anniversary in Australia.

In July 2012 Saffron will launch her first organic fabric range with Fern Textiles.
