North Avoca Screen Printing Workshop
A month ago Joanna Way contacted me via Facebook asking me if I would like to visit Avoca, a two hour drive North of Sydney, to teach my Screen Printing Workshop. "Yes" I quickly typed in reply.
So, last Friday I drove up to Jo's fantastic house, which was built by her husband. Jo's enormous garage was the perfect venue for getting the group's creative juices flowing. I was only too happy to enjoy a day out of Sydney in the company of like-minded people. Jo invited 11 of her friends along to the workshop including her sister Sally who never stopped smiling :)
Everyone brought along a yummy plate of food so there was an extraordinary buffet of food to feast on for lunch. The Quinoa Salad made by Sally was particularly memorable.
Of course there was cakes and slices as well!
We all had a fabulous day. Most of the ladies had not screen printed fabric before and were really enthusiastic to learn a new skilll and what they created was very impressive.
How fabulous is this fluoro Pink Cockatoo by camera shy Tania. He is destined for a cushion!
This is the lovely Jo who hosted the workshop. She printed beautiful aqua geometric shapes.
Sally printed Christmas Trees and then later another layer of red snowflakes for her Christmas table.
This little one sat all day playing with her doll! What a sweetie.
As I drove home I realised I could not have had a better day.
A huge thanks to Jo for hosting the workshop and being so warm and open to us all.
