A Spontaneous Handmade Gift

Posted on August 10, 2013 by Saffron Craig | 1 comment

We are having a spontaneous weekend away to visit friends in the ACT.

As a gift to them, this morning I created a pair of cushions for their daughter Ally—the little one in the house.

It seems I am more of an early morning person at the moment, as I was on the sewing machine at 6.30am starting to sew them.

I used my daughters fabric which she hand screen printed herself, as it is extra special to us.

I used the Clouds on the reverse side of the cushion, as it has such lovely bright colours for a little girl. Due to the cushions being odd dimensions I made the inserts as well.

All in all the cushions got the stamp of approval from the family, the pom pom's a sure hit.

I got that satisfied feeling of making something handmade.

Now it's time to pack them into the car, for a 4 hour drive and start our adventure.

What are you doing this weekend?
